Reno House Musique/HUSTLE

“Musique” started as a one-off party that I did on NYE in 1999 at a warehouse in the Bay Area. These events quickly became the place to go for close friends that didn’t what to deal with the overcrowded nightclubs that, over time, had started to play music that was drifting away from the “SF Style” house that everybody loved so much.

After moving to Reno in 2003, I met Patrick Rhoadswho had a similar taste in dance music and“Reno House Musique”was formed. Patrick and I started weekly musique parties held at various venues in the Reno Tahoe area. Musique events in Reno have featured some of the best local Reno/Tahoe dj’s and out of town friends likeJohn Howard, Galen, J Bird, Andre Lucero,andRick Prestonto name a few.

Soon after, Andrew Snow (DJ AFS) and I met. He also shares a deep love for quality house music. HUSTLE was put in motion. HUSTLEis a monthly event that we put together, along with Patrick, so we could expose more people in the Reno Tahoe area to quality dance music with an SF feel. The first HUSTLE was in February of 2009 and the response has been great. We focus on bringing in great local and out of town dj’s, performers, and acts. We work them into the mix to create an all around great event that pays close attention to programming. The music you hear will take you on a journey from the old to the new, slow to fast, and everything in-between.

HUSTLEis held monthly at Se7en on West in the new West St Market in downtown Reno. It’s a 21+ event and uses a donation style system of door cover charge. With a donation of $5 or more to enter, you will receive a CD of music from past HUSTLE events.

I can be found playing music at various events around the West Coast and beyond. I also play locally in Reno atBistro 7every Friday for their Happy Hour from 5pm to 8pm. Located at 7111 South Virginia St.
