    Push Box

    Pushbox

“We get caught up in society’s dream to be rich and famous. I want to dream my own dream and it’s different than society’s.” – Georgia lead singer of Pushbox

There’s an aura around Georgia of Pushbox that’s sweeping, radiant and real.  I thought having a philosophical discussion with her would be like reading Playboy for the articles.  Like thousands of chaps, I was struck by her reptilian fierceness and drop dead good looks.  But it was Georgia’s depth, curiosity, maturity and true spiritual wisdom that made me mindgasm.   The singer is developing a curriculum for an artist’s academy to help creatives experience peak achievement and develop their maximum artistic potential.  Below, she talks about the band, her process, hard knocks and making music with Pushbox.

    Development

It was a lot of trial and error really. Initially we did everything a band could possibly do wrong.  There was no formula for success.  It’s all in the mind.  Success is a belief system; a connected series of best practices.  Learning to create with yourself and others, then developing the tools and constructs to be creative has been key.  It’s been about breaking out of patterns and comfort zones; making new pathways to access our brilliance. For me, it’s honing my chops as a songwriter and focusing on my craft.  As an artist, I’m here to channel energy and the dream life of my inner spirit. To me, that’s success.

    Influences

My inspiration comes from within.  What limits artists the most is their minds. What are we here in our bodies for? To overcome fear and fulfill our human potential.  I mean, I want to be my own person as much as anybody does.  I love creating.  Finding different ways of being and thinking has greatly influenced the band creatively.

    The Band

Pushbox has been together for almost nine years.  We’re a family in the truest sense of the word.  We’ve seen each other through our greatest hardships: heart attacks, drug addiction and death.   No matter what, we’ve been there for one another.  We would do anything for each other.

    Leadership

On stage, we all share the glory. The guys are comfortable with me being the face of the band.  We all appreciate the recognition from our fans for the music we make.

    Music

We’re now at the place where we can make a kick ass record.  Our communication is now instinctive.  We have the trust in each other.  If we’d made it at any other time, we might not have been able to handle it.
