About the Shoot
I would like to say that I was pleasantly surprised with Nicole’s shoot, but that would be a lie. It’s a lie because, after working with Nicole over the years, I have just come to expect great shots, and she always delivers. In addition to being exceedingly beautiful and talented, she is also a very close friend.
The location for our last shoot was a decommissioned mill in Carson City. As we stumbled over broken bottles and spent shotgun shell casings, I began handing her pieces of garbage from the ground to use as props. The first thing I gave her was a smashed TV. Then I handed her a broken car antennae, and finally a piece of shattered mirror. One after another, she was able to incorporate everything beautifully into the shots.

When you meet Leah Giesy, you’re immediately bedazzled by her dancing eyes and wicked smile. The leggy 5’9” brunette is a 5th generation Sacramento, California native. Her grandfather laid the bricks in old town Sacramento with his Clydesdales. Fearless, feline and feminine, Giesy jumped out of planes in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and has ten years of experience as a professional Aesthetician. “It’s important to love what you do and I really enjoy my career. I spent three years in the U. S. Virgin Islands at the Ritz Carleton and The Zen Retreat,” said Giesy. “The islands were a wonderful experience. I learned about everything from faith healing to past life regression therapy,” Giesy recalled.
